The weather in the Dominican Republic is consistent year-round. They have about 300+ party sunny days a year. You may experience a brief shower at sunrise or later in the afternoon, but typically they only last 5 minutes. May-June are typically the wettest months with rain also more likely in October and November. August and September will be the hotter months with temperatures reaching 90-94°F. December-April will be cooler with lows in the mid-60’s and highs in the low 80’s. The water temperature averages 80-82°F! Although the Dominican has been hit by hurricanes, it is rare. In the past 80 years, they have only experienced 11 hurricanes.

Altos de Chavon is a re-created 15th century Italian-Spanish village set alongside the Chavon River. It is an artist’s village with cobblestone streets, quaint architecture, charming shops, fine restaurants, bars, workshops, an amphitheater and a church.
